Although he's unlikely to pull in Britney-type numbers, Regis Philbin has agreed to be How I Met Your Mother's latest celebrity stunt. The Live wire will play himself in this season's second episode, sources confirm to me exclusively. Details surrounding Reege's cameo are sketchy (not really, I just like saying that), but rumor has it the Mother crew run into him at a NYC burger joint near and dear to Marshall's heart. Five Napkin Burger? Shake Shack? White Castle?

Spoilers 'HIMYM'

Question: It would be much appreciated, Master Ausiello, if you could hand over some How I Met Your Mother scoop. It's the only way to survive the dog days of summer TV. — SmytheAusiello: OK, but only because you addressed me by my preferred title. New evidence has turned up in my ongoing investigation into the identity of Ted's future wife on How I Met Your Mother — and it points toward Sarah Chalke being the mysterious mama! (It also ranks as a DEFCON 5 on the spoiler scale, so beware.) A Mother insider reveals that in the show's Sept. 22 season premiere, Stella will accept Ted's cliffhanging marriage proposal! Next up: We find out if my search of her apartment yielded the elusive smoking gun (aka the yellow umbrella). Stay tuned…

No time to watch TV this week. (Sacrilege!) I was too busy eating, sleeping and breathing TV at the annual gathering of writers, producers, network executives and stars in Beverly Hills. In the interest of space, I've compiled a list of my top seven - yes, seven - highlights of the week:

Standing by the dessert table at the CBS party was a very skinny girl in a cute dress. "She needs to eat a cookie," said a critic standing to my right. I turned to look - and it was none other Robin Sparkles from "How I Met Your Mother." (Skinny yes, but sparkly nonetheless.) Turns out she has a crush, and it's not on Ted: "I'm in love with Sarah Chalke," confessed Robin's alter ego, Cobie Smulders. "I'm ecstatic about her. She is probably one of the coolest girls I've ever met." But is she the mother of Ted's kids on "HIMYM"? "We have no idea. I think that their relationship will be an important one. I love our show because anything can happen."
